Constitution

Annual Meeting

An annual meeting shall be held during a Reunion each third Saturday in October.

The Annual Meeting shall:

  1. Receive a report on the work of the Executive and news of members from the Hon. Secretary.
  2. Receive the Hon. Treasurer's Report with the Audited Annual Accounts.
  3. Appoint any Officers as necessary.
  4. Debate any matters of current concern.

Officers

There shall be an Executive consisting of:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Hon. Secretary
  • Hon. Assistant Secretary with particular responsibility for membership
  • Hon. Treasurer
  • Hon. Assistant Treasurer
  • Journal Editor
  • Three other members

Each is individually elected at an Annual Meeting to serve a four year term. At the end of this term they will be eligible for re-election for twelve months, thereafter, to stand down.

The Executive Committee shall organise the Annual Reunion, the Annual Meeting and the publication of the journal.

The Hon Treasurer shall keep the accounts with the signature of another named Officer countersigning transactions.

The Hon Secretary shall keep Minutes of the Executive and Annual Meetings. The Hon Assistant Secretary shall maintain the list of members.

The Journal Editor shall work with a Sub-committee of the Executive to produce the Journal.

Those who have served as President will have their names entered in the League Book.

Disbursements

  1. Cases of hardship
    Following application the Executive Committee may make gifts each year to assist any member.
  2. Annual Awards
    (i) An annual bursary to be awarded in recognition of nursing achievement
    (ii) Two annual prizes in memory of Miss Mary Jones and Miss Rebecca Haynes
